Why these waters matter for ERP permitting

Outstanding Florida Waters

Outstanding Florida Waters are designated for special protection under Rule 62-302.700, F.A.C. Projects near an OFW generally face heightened water-quality expectations in Environmental Resource Permitting, so knowing early whether one is nearby shapes the treatment approach.

Impaired Waters

Impaired Waters are waterbodies (WBIDs) on Florida's verified list that do not meet water-quality standards for one or more parameters. Discharging to an Impaired Waters segment can change the performance standard your stormwater design must meet.

HUC12 watersheds

HUC12s are the USGS hydrologic units used to frame pre- vs post-development nutrient loading comparisons under the ERP Applicant's Handbook. Your project's HUC12 (often more than one) is the geographic backbone of the loading analysis.
